Emily has been in the radio business for some time, starting as a weekend part-timer right here at KMCD when she was in high school.
Emily grew up just south of Fairfield in Van Buren County. She graduated from Van Buren Community High School and then from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa before heading to Truman State University to graduate as a Communication/Journalism major.
Emily is happy to be in the same studio where she kicked it all off several years ago, recording commercials. Through the years, she has had various radio gigs to gain experience in the field. She spent some time working at KMCD & Hot 96 FM, delivering the weekend news and weathercasts, as well as managing the studio during Lee Muntz's live sportscasts. She also worked at other area stations, recording commercials and manning the console during baseball games.
Emily makes her home in Fairfield. She says, "I'm really happy to be here, working with Steve Smith, Lee and the gang. And I love being in the community, gathering and reporting the news to our KMCD and Hot 96 FM listeners."
