Fairfield Media Group, Inc. was formed in 1994 to purchase and operate KMCD (AM) and KIIK-FM (Hot 96 FM) in Fairfield, IA. In 1998 we started our web site, now known as RadioVillage.com.

Fairfield Media Group comprises five area individuals who bring diverse talents and specialties to our stations. Read all about them, and feel free to e-mail any of them by clicking on their names.

Myron Gookin - RadioVillage.comMyron Gookin is an attorney and partner with Foss, Kuiken Gookin & Cochran, PC in Fairfield, IA. He is also a member of the Fairfield City Council. Myron attended Iowa State University in Ames, where he also worked for a local radio station. His radio background and legal expertise have obvious advantages to our group.

Ed Malloy - RadioVillage.comEd Malloy is president of Danaher Oil Company in Fairfield and the mayor of Fairfield. He is a member of Governor Vilsack's Iowa 2010 Commission, and a board member and past president of the Fairfield Entrepreneurs Association. Ed was born and reared on Long Island, NY, where he listened to the great New York radio stations of the Fifties, Sixties and Seventies. Ed's experience and success in the fast-moving commodities field, and his management of a sales team, helps the station to better our sales and management efforts.

Jay Mitchell - RadioVillage.comJay Mitchell is general manager of Fairfield Media Group. He is an Iowa-born-and-bred, second-generation broadcaster who has been doing radio since age 11. He has worked as a deejay, program director, general manager, consultant and radio newsletter publisher. He oversees the team that operates KMCD and Hot 96 FM, and he is the webmaster of RadioVillage.com.

Dave Neff - RadioVillage.comDavid Neff is president of Fairfield Media Group and vice president for business development and investments with the Iowa State Bank & Trust Company of Fairfield. Dave is quite active in the community, including Fairfield Parks and Recreation, the Greater Jefferson County Foundation, the Fairfield Tree Enhancement Committee and the Ambassadors Club of the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce. Dave is a specialist in financial matters, customer acquisition/retention and employee relations. His contributions to our company in those areas are invaluable.

Bob Phipps is the former executive vice president of the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce. With a long career in the insurance business, he was most recently a principal in the L. T. Evans Insurance Company. Early in his working life, Bob sold radio time for KMCD. Bob's experience in the insurance field, as well as his longstanding relationships with business, government and civic leaders in Fairfield and across the state, serves the stations well.
