Welcome to a blast from the past ... the web site for stations KMCD & KIIK in Fairfield, IA as it was when I and a bunch of local guys owned the stations.

In addition to running the stations, I served as webmaster for RadioVillage.com. Starting with a truly horrible layout about a dozen years ago - can it have been that long? Our site evolved into the clean, useful community portal you see today.

We chose "RadioVillage" for the site name instead of our call letters, because we wanted to be more than just a radio station site ... and we succeeded wildly. Backed by the formidable power of high-frequency advertising on our own stations, we were generating 150,000 page views a month - not bad for a market of 30,000.

Last year we sold the stations but kept the RadioVillage.com address. (The stations now use FairfieldIowaRadio.com, retaining our basic design.) Today, this web site serves as an example of what can be done with a little web skill, a little design sense, and a clear idea of how a radio web site can serve a community.
